By Antin. Give attention to any changing on the skin, because probably that is sign of skin cancer. The most common signs of skin cancer are typically a new mole or skin lesion or a change in an existing mole.

Other symptoms of skin cancer are sensation changes of the mole, skin growth or bump skin like itching, burning, tenderness or painful sensation. Appearance changes like and a crusted or ulcerated look can be the symptoms of skin cancer too.

Categories of Skin Cancer:

· Basal Cell Carcinoma. Skin cancer that may appear as a small, smooth, pearly or waxy bump on the face ears and neck; or as a flat, pink/red- or brown-colored lesion on the trunk or arms and legs.

· Squamous Cell Carcinoma. A type of skin cancer that may appear as a firm, red nodule, or as a rough, scaly flat lesion that may itch, bleed and become crusty. Basal cell and Squamous cell skin cancer mainly occur on areas of the skin that often exposed to the sun, but it can occur anywhere.

  • Melanoma Maligna. Skin cancer that usually appears as a pigmented patch or bump. It may resemble a normal mole, but usually has a more irregular appearance.

Detection of skin cancer according to the American Cancer Society’s think of the ABCD detection system for skin cancer.

  • A : Asymmetry - the shape of one half doesn’t match the other
  • B : Border - the edges of the mole or the new skin growth which probably skin cancer is irregular (ragged, notched or blurred).
  • C : Color – skin cancer usually have color changes, an uneven shades of brown, black, tan, red, white or blue

· D : Diameter - a sign of skin cancer is any size increase of an already existing mole or the occurrence of a big mole or new skin growth with a size larger than 6 mm.
